YOU set a security deposit for your property so if the guest damages something then you file a damage claim and Airbnb will charge the guest for the damage.

You don't pay a security deposit, the guest doesn't pay it... it is just an amount Airbnb will be able to charge the guest for in case of any damage done to your home

Hi Mindaugas15 , is that correct the guest dont get charged the security deposit if we put one on?

I thought their visa card gets charged that amount say $100 and holds it if the booking is completed and no damaged  is reported the money is credited back.

I have not wanted to do a security deposit as thought this was the case and didn't want to put off guests, if you are correct I will add one.

I would just like to clarify as every hotel I have ever paid takes the money off my card,  I get it back 2-3  weeks later.
