my rate vs. what guests see

Hi I am discussing a rate with a guest. My nightly rate is $140, which shows correctly in calendar.  When I clicked what my guests sees, for 8 nights, it shows they are paying $144/night.  The  service fee is added, not within that amount.  Why would it show more than my rate?  THanks Denise

Do you have a different price for weekends? If so it averages it out per night on the whole 8 night price.

Airbnb is not known to be transparent or exact in their pricing and charges. Personally, I never discuss specific figures with the guest because the % of fees that is applied has never been clear to me. I just know there is roughly a 15% difference between what the guest pays Airbnb and what Airbnb issues as a payout to me (host). As long as my payout seems to be "about right" I've kinda given up on trying to understand details.

But I have also noticed that my nightly rates are not exactly the amount I've input but usually very slightly higher or lower. Not sure why but as long as my payout is"about right" I've decided not to let it bother me.

thanks Jessica and Henry and I have notecard some differences as well. However this is what my guest see - after viewing on my calendar $140/night
