Dear all, I desperately want to 'close' my identification, but I have not a facebook profile, nor a linkedin one. And I do not desire to have. It is impossible to be a 'safe' host being in such conditions?????

A driver's license and/or Google ID can also suffice.

Even if you never intend to use a Facebook account, getting varified for one can (these days) be quite useful.

Multiple verifications are best.

Also a phone number can be used. In fact, our own profile is only verified with an email address and a phone number. No Facebook, etc.

I already wrote my phone number, my e-mail and took a shot of my driving license; but it is impossible to complete an identification without fb. I find ugly this idea: taking for granted that everybody in the universe MUST have a fb account....

I am having the same problem except I actually do have a facebook account which i have used every day for 7 years. I have given my drivers licence, phone number, email, passport and facebook, have a holiday home to which I rent out via Airbnb and yet i still can not get varified to be able to rent anywhere that requires varification. I received mail from airbnb giving me the same direction as their site which i followed and now they want a ten second video to complete the last step. So airbnb now have all my personal details via D/L and passport, my holiday home details, my facebook account, my email and phone number my credit card and now want video footage?????? Its all very suss to me and I have just realised I am an idiot for giving them all that information. Today i have called my bank to inform them i have given them all that information and now my credit card has an alert on it along with all my accounts just in case. I am extremely frustrated and will be booking a hotel tonight and wiping my account with Airbnb

@Danielle35 looks like your finally got your driver's license ID verified, congrats. There is a bit of a lag in Airbnb's ID verification. I get these questions from new guests who haven't completed the verification.
