not sure how booking works

So I am a total newbie to Airbnb and just booked my first guest. 

I didn't notice until after approving and he booked that the rate he was able to book for was $25 less per night than what I set on my listing.

What's the deal? I don't understand how this happened, and I'm also now learning that I suppose Airbnb doesn't have any phone line?

Ha, do you love it when you answer your own questions?

They keep their phone number hidden on the site because they'd like to route you through the community or help listings.  Google the phone number - it's one of the top results. And then save it in your phone so you'll never have to dig for it again!
