opening a case re cancelling a reservation

Can anyone tell me how you, as a host, go about contacting airbnb? I'm so frustrated.

 

I had to cancel a reservation as we had storm damage to our house and they are wanting to fine me $100, but nowhere on the website does it tell you how to open a case of extenuating circumstances - help!

Typing "extenuating" in the "Ask a question or search by keyword" box after clicking on "Help" shows up this very-short-on-details article.

 

How do I file an extenuating circumstances claim?

 

There's a "Contact Airbnb: A Community Help Guide" post which gives a list of phone numbers and details of their Twitter and Facebook accounts. I'v found that they respond in about 4 or 5 hours when contacted via Twitter.

 

You can find the post by typing "contact airbnb" in the "Search the community" box that appears at the top of these help forum web pages where you posted this question.

A list of suggestions will appear as you type. Click on the "Contact Airbnb: A Community Help Guide" one.
