refunds and future earnouts

hello,
it appears that refunds issued by hosts to guests are now processed via a credit card on file and no longer through future payout withholdings. When did this change take place? Why isn't it included in the updated terms of services? and most importantly, why is this critical information not disclosed to the owners prior to click on the 'issue refund" button?
Issuing a refund through a different method is going against what credit card processing companies and banks require in order to remain in good standings.

I wasn't aware of this? Where did you get this information or has the refund already been taken from your card? My guest refunds are showing as minus amounts in my pending transactions... Or at least some are.
