Hi - I've had request from a local care agency for an employee who's between live-in positions. The employer is doing the booking and has only joined airbnb today - therefore no reviews, and she's just given me a brief description of the person looking for room. It feels a little displaced. any advice?
Interesting one @Hilly0!
Technically, Airbnb don't permit third-party bookings so potentially you might be on your own if you had any problem down the line.
That aside, I've had a few of these over the last couple of years. An employer decides to give Airbnb a go as it looks cost effective or they have used it themselves. Half the time I've ended up with a bemused guest who doesn't know anything about Airbnb but loves the concept once you explain it. Half the time a bemused guest who doesn't quite know what to make of it and would rather be in traditional accommodation.
Anyway, can you ask the employer to get the actual guest to register? You could send them your sign up link to sweeten the deal! That would keep you covered as well.
Good luck!
It can be a great source of steady bookings for you ! You might want to request that the person that will stay with you create a profile that is verified even if the Care Agency will be making the booking . Many Businesses are starting to use Airbnb for Business travel and it can become a great source for steady bookings . Ultimately , the Care Agency is responsible for any damages , but you have to be careful in regards to Third Party bookings . You might want to call CX and discuss the issue with them or you can just decline the request if you feel uncomfortable about it at all .
