requesting money

My guests left in emergency last Monday telling me that they left the keys and the money they owned me somewhere in the flat

when i arrived the next morning i found the keys but no money at all.

Then i discovered that 3 brand new bath towels,2 hand towels,1 bath mat are missing.

A velvet throw wet in the washing machine and damaged,a few broken glasses,tea pot

they broke a sidetable at the entrance

they did not pay the 4 extra days that they spent

 

so i requested money through Airbnb but the guest is not responding 

what happened next if he never replied?

can someone is able to tell me?

How is it possible they did not pay, as the extra days should have been on the reservation (by extending it) and automatically been paid through Airbnb.

@Frédérique98 you should never request cash outside of Airbnb, you can get delisted. If the guest doesn't respond after 72h I believe, Airbnb gets involved and they will decide.

@Frédérique98  The extra days that the guests stayed , without you putting in a reservation extension through the platform, but instead asking for cash, means that Airbnb has nothing to do with this- you made a private arrangement with the guests, therefore those last 4 days they didn't pay you for isn't Airbnb's concern, but letting them know you did this might not be the best idea, as being made aware of that will  be of concern to them, and could cause them to delist you.

Trying to charge these people for the towels isn't going to work either- they are obviously scammers and thieves, so of course they aren't going to respond to a request for payment.

I know it's a tough one, but you might have to chalk this up to experience and move on, making sure all goes through the platform in the future so that Airbnb will hopefully be inclined to have your back.

@Frédérique98 As other hosts mentioned, you would not be able to get paid for the extra four days they spent since you did not ask them to alter the request for extending their stay.

 

For the missing and damages, you need to prepare documentation supporting your statements such as photos of those missing and damaged items. You did mention that you submitted the request of money through Airbnb. If you don't hear back from the guest in 72 hours, you need to invovle Airbnb in the resolution center. Then a case manager will be assigned to you. You will receive a message in your inbox or an email.
