reservation preferences

We have just had a booking that has made us a little confused about our availability settings - reservation preferences.

On the settings, we have selected 'at least one days notice'.

Last night we had a booking at 11.07pm, to arrive today. 

This isn't really a day's notice, as they could turn up at 2pm which is less than 24 hours. 

I'm wondering what classifies as a 'day', is the cut-off at midnight the night before? or is it 24 hours from check-in time? or....??

If somebody wants to book for tomorrow they can not do so tomorrow, need to book today.

I'm wondering what time zone they were booking from and maybe that makes a difference?
