reservation showing pending and confirmed at the same time

I have accepted a areservation fromm a guest.  It now shoes up a confirmed in my calander.  However when I go to my dashboard it shows as pending and tells me I have to decline the offer or change my calander.  There is a counter ticking down from 24 hours waiting for my reply.

I'm unsure why this happened or what to do.  Has the guest made the same request twice and I have just accepted one?  There are 2 messages the same in my inbox.   I suspect if I decline then it might cancel the original reservation.

@Rob70 I think there are two options. The first is to contact AirBnB to get their help understanding what's actually going on.  Contact Airbnb

 

The second option is to wait until hour 23 and see if anything has changed. (I suspect it will. The Dashboard seems to have quite a time-lag for many things. For example, it will show me notifications about reviews, etc, long after I've dealt with them.) If, as you approached the 24-hour deadline, nothing has changed, go ahead and decline that apparently duplicate request.

I've been doing a search on it and think I may be able to use the 'dismiss' button that has appeared.  

The message appears as an 'inquiry' rather than a request so I'm hoping that using dismiss won't cancel anything of affeect my ratings.

 I'll try using the conact link as you suggest too.

Hi Rob , why don't you get the guest information and text him or her, if they put to request or just one and you can then cancel one of them if that possible

just a reminder: as hosts we should NEVER cancel, unless we absolutely have to. you get penalized for that by having those dates blocked for any other potential use, and also by a subtraction of $100 or $50 from your next rental income. declining someone is different, that is Before someone books, no negative consequences for that.
