Recently Airbnb blocked my calendar with a prospective booking without my permission. I had no information regarding the guests so immediately wrote to ask for full information. I heard nothing for over 24 hours so wrote again telling the guest that we assumed he had found somewhere else. About 36 hours later I received an email telling me that the couple had a child of 7 eventhough our rules clearly state that we do not accept children under the age of 11. A couple of days later I received an email from Airbnb saying that I had not responded to the enquiry within 24 hours which will go against me in their review. However, the blocking of the calendar also prevented another guest being able to book the dates that she wanted and it was lucky that we had had previous contact that I was able to reassure her that she would be able to do so if she waited 24 hours or we would have lost the booking.
How can I prevent Airbnb entering prospective bookings which have not received my permission and how can I ensure that they have correct information?
