strict cancellation policy

I book for an accommodation in airbnb with a host which elect for strict cancellation policy. My check in date in 27 Nov 2019.

If i cancel now. Do i get full refund? I'm confused with interpretation "For a full refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 full days prior to listing’s local check-in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check-in."

Does that mean i still get refund if i cancel at least 14 days prior check in? Please advise. Thank you.

leena

@Leena15 the only way you will get a full refund (minus airbnb fees) is if you cancel within 48 hours of making the booking. If that 48 hour period has passed, you will get 50% back if you cancel.

@Rachel177  thank you for the reply. I have figured it out last night. Thanks again.

@Leena15 "Cancellation must be made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 full days prior to listing’s local check-in time (or 3:00 PM if not specified) on the day of check-in."

That seems pretty clear to me. It says AND not OR.

The reason the 14 days is there is that if, for instance, you made a booking on the 1st of the month for a check-in on the 11th of the month, chose to cancel it within 48 hours, that would still be less than the 14 days, so you would not receive a full refund.

Some hosts may be willing to refund the full amount if they are able to rebook the dates. Since November is still a ways away, you could always ask the host if they would consider this. But they aren't under any obligation to do this, it's the guest's obligation to understand the cancellation policy when they book. And even if the host agrees to refund, Airbnb will keep the fees they charge, which the host can't do anything about.

Also be aware that hosts don't get paid until 24hours after a guest checks in, so until November, the host won't have any of your payment.

@Sarah977  i have figure it out overnight.  I always book 2 months ahead so i was not able to comprehend the "...and 14 days" and how does it apply because i am  able to fulfill this pre-condition Thank you for answering my questions. I know what to do now. Thanks.
