update calendar after a cancellation

Hi, I had to cancel a 3 months reservation as need my flat back after splitting with my partner. I wont be in the flat for the entire 3 months tho as I will be traveling part of it. But since I have cancelled, it seems airbnb does not let me update my calendar with available days in the same period (3 months) in order to avoid further cancellation. How do I deal with it? Thanks for your help.

Isn't this one of the penalties for cancelling?

 

Your calendar will stay blocked, and you won't be able to accept another reservation for the same dates of the canceled reservation

One of the sanctions/penalties for hosts when they cancel a reservation is that airbnb blocks the dates so no one else can book. They do it because one of the biggest issues airbnb got is that hosts cancels on their guests. It makes airbnb unreliable and it is a huge problem. What you can do when things like this happens is to contact airbnb so they can cancel under the extenuating circumstances policy - that way you won't get penalized and the dates won't get blocked.

Maybe try and contact airbnb explaining what happen and maybe they will re-open your calender.

thanks for your message. I understand. Unfortunately the other reply I have rcvd (from Elena level 10 like you), is negative. It's a shame cause it's on a such a long booking (3 months)!
