Hi Violet

You would see the text massage from guest  in you inbox and email as well

Farooq

Thanks

Hi farooq  thank you for your  advise.much appreciated.

@Violet12  In your host profile settings, you need to check how you want to receive notifications- there's  options for email, text alerts or push notifications. You can check whichever of those you want or all of them. It's good to check a couple, in case one goes glitchy. I stopped receiving my text alerts a year ago, and it took Airbnb a month or more to get them up and running again, but I still got them in my email Inbox.

FYI you can't reply directly to those notifications- you have to go to your account and reply through the messaging.

Thank you  so much for the reply not easy doing this for the first time.

@Violet12 No, it's not. When I first started hosting a couple years ago, I went through everything on my hosting pages and clicked on all of it to find out where everything was. Takes a long time. Then I made notes for myself, so I'd remember- they organize things in a way that doesn't make sense to me and bury stuff where you'd not expect to find it. They also often change where they put things (and they never notify you of that, you just end up searching for it and getting frustrated) , or the site layout, so then you have a new learning curve. One day they changed what used to be called Stats to calling it Progress. How they expected us to figure out where our Stats had gone, I have no idea.

You are right  Sara I have  been  constantly  checking if am on the right sight especially  with all the scams and fraudulent  activities  online .

I get goose bumps each time I don't see a familiar  page and think I am on a fake page .

I  think  I  will be more settled once I host my first guest.

Hi @Violet12,

We all had to learn this, and most likely: We all hit the same stones.

If I may advice you: Get to understand the difference between an Inquiry and a Booking(request). You would be surprised about the number of hosts, really not understanding this.

And myabe you want to consider temporarily switching off, "Instant Book", when you are relatively new to this.

But there are Pro's and Con's to using "Instant Book" too.

hi everyone  I just got a booking I see on the other conversation  everyone is complaining the guest picture  is not uploaded  mine is even though not clear  how do I do I check on the guest it says his been with Airbnb  since 2015. do I directly  ask him questions or what ?
