why guests cannot book from now for june 2018? they want to book but calendar shows only until april 2018

@Constantinos0, go to Dashboard -> Your Listing -> Calendar and More, and then Availability Settings at the top right. (These are instructions for laptop/tablet.) Click the dropdown for Reservation Preferences. Look for Booking Window. Check "All future dates". That should open it up.

I think I might be right, @Linda108. (Yeah, but I always think I'm right, so...) I just did a search for Toronto - picked the city because I know it - for October 2018 and found over 300 places to Instant Book for the date I said I wanted. 

But your advice sounds authoritative. You didn't think it up on the spot. Does it come from the Help Centre?

Maybe this is a recent change?

@Lawrene0  I forgot about the option for "all future dates" as I am set at 12 months.  Love that I come across with such authority. 😄

Along with authoritative, your advice is sound, @Linda108. I should have mentioned the pitfall with "All future dates". If you do set it to that, @Constantinos0, be sure you are okay with people (other than these nice guests you do want) being able to book into the uncertain future. If you, like us, are a bit worried about setting availability to anything over 12 months since life often changes, do as she says and ask the guest to wait until June 2017 to book. 

I don't know at all what happens if you open your calendar to All Future, allow the guest to book, then set it back to 12 months. I seems as if this would be okay - the reservation should still hold, and yet no one else could book beyond your window. If you do that, will you write to say? Someone else may want to try the same.

@Constantinos0  While you can see and manage your calendar for years in advance, the maximum search and booking window is 12 months.  So in June 2017, the guest will be able to book.  If you have a potential guest you want to host, you could block the desired dates and when it is 12 months before, you can message the potential guest with the information that the dates are available.  You cannot do this if you have Instant Book turned on as the dates could be booked by unintended guests.  Does this help?
