AIRBNB'S RANKING ON THE SEARCH PAGE

Our house is in a small Island community of 40 homes.  WHen I type in the name of the community (Lonelyville), listings from nearby towns appear before mine.  How can I fix this?

@David180 I have the reverse situation.  My listing is in Templeton, California which is in the County of San Luis Obispo which also has a city of the same name.  Listings for all these places shows up in searches for Templeton.

Probably Airbnb lumps nearby towns in searches for Lonelyville because of the few listings there.  That might be a plus since your listing will be included in searches of nearby, but larger areas as well.

I don't have anything helpful to add, but I must say that I love the name of your community. We have a road outside of our town officially named "Nameless Road" and I wish we were located on it.

Actually, I do have something to add. People can also search by zip code and (in many places) by neighborhood names. We happen to be in both a well-known zip code and a well-known neighborhood. Austin is a tourist city and lots of tourists know very precisely where they want to stay. Fortunately, our listing is popular enough and well-ranked within our price range that we tend to show up on the first or second page of the search results even when people search just "Austin", a metro area of 2 million people and about 11 billion AirBnB listings.
