Additional Host - but no access to message threads with guests

Hello,

I have been added as an additional host for my friend's property, in the hopes that I can do most things from my airbnb account, rather than logging in as her.  It all seems set up, in that I can see the property and view the bookings.*

* However, when I click the message icon, in order to open up the message thread with guests, I get the following message:

"You do not have access to this thread."

In the description of "Additional Hosts", it said that we would have access to the message threads.  Without that, I can't really do what I need to do.

Has anyone else experienced this?

These steps worked for me…

Ensure the new co-host is verified on Airbnb.

If you’re using a browser use Google Chrome rather Mozilla, IE etc. Airbnb seems to work best with Google Chrome.

If you’re still having problems after trying the above steps uninvite the co-host then reinvite them. (The equivalent of switching it off then switching it back on again :-))

Clear the browsers cache.

For the mobile app - clear the app’s data. In Android this can be achieved under app settings. This step will force the Airbnb app to refresh its data which may otherwise be cached locally.
