We charge £59 per room. Someone is coming to stay for 2 nights and Air has worked this out, before any charges have been removed, to total £117. Why???? Other times they get it correct. Why has this happened?
Hi Veronica,
This has happened to me a couple of times and, to be honest, I have let it go. Nevertheless, it is annoying even though it is only a small amount. It appears that quite a few hosts have had this issue and if it continues I will contact airbnb to complain. The most recent was for a booking in December - 2 nights at £50 per night = £99 ? The mind boggles!
Thank you - I really like Air and all it does but this is just really irritating and leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Did you get this reply from a gentleman in France:
On the French CC we complained many many times about. The official airbnb answer is:
Since the 1st of June, any transaction realised in non dollar currency is processed by Airbnb in dollars with a change rate and their rounded policy. Even if both hosts and guests share the same currency.
I'm out of about 100$ since they apply this policy which have been add in the last ToS and applied only since 2 months. :-((((
Thank you for your explanation. It is extremely annoying - I would rather they just put the prices up.
