Air conditioning overuse

Please does anyone have any advice on how I can restrict air conditioning use, for example is there a timer available so that when guests go out it will automatically switch of after perhaps 1 hour.

Consider getting a Nest or other smart thermostat. It can prevent setting the temperature outside a range you specify, and can detect when the space is occupied.
