AirBnB wanting me to lower my pricing

ATTENTION: AirBnB Community

I received an email today about lowering my prices to get more bookings.

I actually don't believe it is not worth it over the long term, as I do not want people 24/7. I am happy with the bookings I have at present, particularly as I am travelling right now and I like to be on the premises when people arrive.

We are not a hotel, but a home and we like to choose the times of year to have people stay.

Does anyone else consider that AirBnB is becoming a little too pushy to individual home owners.

Please also note I understand AirBnB is a business and is a way for this business to make money if we drop prices, but AirBnB please also understand that we are individuals and home owners and like to be able to choose our times for guests in our home/self-contained space.

Thank you for reading and I would love to hear what others think.

Kind regards

I got the email, too. They want me to lower the price now in the high season to 22 EUR. Yeah right.

Hi Ana, Thank you for your reply. It has to be for them to make more money as it certainly does not work for me to lower prices, particularly with the bills and time that goes into hosting from electricty, water, time to meet, greet, supply welcome packs etc and the lack of privacy if it is in your own home.

@Jill17 I have never gotten such an email, but I think you have to know what price works for you and your listing. There are many factors involved, and Airbnb cannot account for all of these things in any pricing advice. I say, don't fix what isn't broken, and keep on doing what you've been doing!

Thanks Kate for your response.

I haven't got any email like that , but airbnb seems is going through some  change.

most importantly, is this a friendly remind or ?

what will happen if you decide not to drop the price?
