One of my hosts claimed that airbnb was requesting a bank statment before booking with me. Has anyone ver experienced this?
Here is the quote from my potential guest
"I tried to book this reservation about 1/2 hour ago. airbnb asked for a bank statement which is more than the hotels asked for. I am very concerned that you will give away my reservation before I can resolve this. I sent them a request to speak with a human being and don't know if this possible."

Airbnb never asked for such things. Something isnt right.

airbnb does ask for bank statments when new cards are added to account, to verify card holder

I’ll include my message from them below when I experienced this recently.
Ridiculous requests for information from trusted customers considering AirBnB cannot confirm any of the documents you send them, it’s not like they have an information sharing agreement with your bank or payment provider.
They’ve lost me as a customer but if anyone else experiences this and wants to continue using AirBnB then you’ll have to just go along with what they want, give them the documents they want and wait. You won’t get any support from them outside that. Their way or the highway.
