Alter a reservation

Hello.

My guest that booked a long term reservation for 4 months suddanly decided to shorten her stay by 2 weeks.

When she booked she has got a significant discount. Now I have 2 weeks free in the calendar and her check - out date falls on my vacation, so I will not be able to check the apartment and not to clean it and prepair for the next potentioal guests.

So I just lose money for 2 weeks and have nothing to do.

The airbnb system allows to the hosts to alter free of charge up to 30 days, without any agreement from the host side, but if I want to alter the reservation as a host, I should get an approval from the guest.

I think it is unfair policy!

I think at least partial refund (compensation) should apply.

@Eugene15  You always run a risk when you depend on or make plans based on guest reservations.  Nature of the business, right? One thing you can look into is the adjustment of the rate charged for the partial month.  If you have a weekly rate, the last two weeks should be charged that rate, not a monthly rate.  You might get some additional revenue depending on the weekly versus monthly discount.  Not great, but it is something.
