Are white sheets a better option

Are white sheets a better option

Hi I am just starting to prepare to airbnb home and stocking up on linens and towels. Is white the best color? Seems like they are nice because you can bleach them, but  they also show stains more easily than something colored or printed. Thoughts?

There will always be those @Susan1639 who will argue one side or the other.

I’ve tried both doing homestays and Airbnb, and my choice is white. I can kill them with whatever products I want without fear of altering the colour. You can always match! Even if there are a thousand shades of white.... if you maintain a reasonable standard of thread count, they’ll be fine.

Coloured sheets will fade, and non removable grease marks etc just get darker.....

White sheets will yellow or be killed by artificial tan, scalp oil, etc over time. They need tossing if this happens, so plan your pricing around at least two to three sets and purchase during specials and put aside. I say three so if you have a quick turnaround and some stubborn stains that need major soaking: One on, one off... and one in the wash!

Great advice. Thanks for the support!  A little overwhelmed at this point so I really appreciate your experience.

Like @Cathie19 says, @Susan1639, you'll get people from both camps on this one. I'm a grey man myself (in more ways than one) which means grey bedding and towels. But it sort of suits the room too, so there's no clean-cut amswer I'm afraid!

It'll become your second nature before you know it.

PS. A photo on your profile goes a long way.

@Susan1639,  I’ve never strayed from white. I've thought about color/patterns to liven up the bed. But you can always do this with pillows and throws. It's much easier to remove stains from white sheets than colors. The hotel industry did not settled on white on a whim. A lot of research went into it.
