Our guest left today with blood stains on the bottom sheet. We have tried all sorts to get it out to no avail. Any suggestions on this? We might have to buy a new bottom sheet.
@Glen N Penny, bloodstains have to be soaked in cold water. If you've already washed in warm/hot water the stain has set and likely won't come out.
You can buy single flat sheets at Target.com. They go on sale often (sometimes up to 30%.) These are the
best quality I have found for the price.
Good luck!
Thanks so appreciate your help. I may need to buy another one.
HI @ Glen, believe it or not, I have been using Formula 409 to remove blood and other resistant stains, and it works like magic, and is color safe. Just spray 409, wait 5 minutes, rinse, and you can repeat the procedure again.
Thanks Ana, we are going to try that today and I will let you know!
Hi guys, Here in Australia we have a product called Sards wonder soap and this product is available in the US at aussieproducts.com....Here is the specific link....

This site sells popular Aussie products to the American market!
This product is amazing, they have hit on the right formula and blood is absolutely no match for this product. I buy it in the spray variety....just spray the affected area and rub it as though getting out any normal stain and then either rinse area and repeat or, if results are good enough first try just spray on a bit more and put it in with the normal wash. I guarantee there is no way you will see where the blood was and it will not affect colours like bleach can.
Here is the spray version I use......
Try and get some of this, you won't be disappointed. The only stains it will not remove are acetone based products like nail polish remover.
Good luck.
Cheers......Rob
I am going to get myself some of that as this is not the first time! Thanks for the tip!
For the sheets that do end up with permanent stains, I have actually moved over to a system in which I purchase the bottom sheets and top sheets individual from each other (I buy a pack of 6 of each on Amazon.) This way, I'm not out an entire set when some ruins a pillow case, or a bottom sheet etc.
Smart move! Thanks for the tip
@Robin4 omg that's the same one we use!!! Well, almost. The one we use says "degreasing" on it, but it's perfect for blood stained sheets. Tried, tested, and pressure tested....
My wife has never met a blood stain she couldn't remove entirely, thanks to this little bottle:
As others have said, the trick is to rinse in cold water. Never use 'hot' water with a blood or ink stains. Only use cold water.
Ideally, you would want to tackle the stain with water right away. The fresher the blood is, the more effective it is to clean it off. And then, apply some soap on it. Give it a good rub all over the stain. And if you're dealing with light-color fabric, hydrogen peroxide (which will act as bleach) will be a good option.
In worse cases when the blood has dried, you'll need to put more work into it.
Thank you so much!
hydrogen peroxide and / or soak in cold water then wash in hot water
When nothing else workes - then BLEACH
Thanks.. we have tried that, but will put some elbow grease into it this time!
