Bribe?

I had a prospective guest send me a message with his reservation that said: "Can you lower your price to __________.  If so, I can guarantee you a 5 star review." I didn't like the manipulation inherent in this so declined the reservation thinking the person would find somewhere else to go.  But then they did Instant Booking at the price I had listed (which was just $15/night more).  I'm a superhost and have a 4.9 average rating and am concerned that this guest is going to blackmail me for not lowering my price.  Has anybody delt with this before?

@Devin9 You can still cancel the reservation without being penalized as they have book your place by using the instant booking system.Don't worry you will not lose your Superhost badge.Make sure you block the guest after canceling their reservation. Good luck!!!

@Devin9 - Hi Devlin - I wouldn't just cancel I would phone air bnb and report this potential guest.  I would tell them i was reluctant to host as they blatently tried to blackmail me before arrival and I would say I was now uncomfortable to host them.  You are allowed to cancel if you are uncomfortable hosting guests who instant book.  They should also be flagged so air bnb can remove them from system for attempted blackmail.  I am sure you will get air bnbs full support on this.  Keep us posted.

As @Lyn-and-Gavin0 have said, contract Airbnb to get this booking cancelled. You won't win with this sort of guest and they're best avoided.
