Cancellations from guest

It is awful as a host when you do your best to welcome people and then they decide to just cancel a day before just because you have a flexible cancellation policy. I would like to know how does Airbnb remedy such situations? Sorry but it's unfair to me as a host after I've already prepared for the next day.

I think you know allready what the remedy is: use a more strict cancellation policy in your listing, like "moderate":
