Changing my address on my listing without creating a new listing

I set up my listing on Airbnb last fall, and I've recently moved to a new apartment last week.  I want to update my current listing, photos and change the address, etc.   But it appears that while I can update the description and change photos, I cannot change my address. I'm afraid to set up a new listing, because I don't know what would happen to my reviews, my listings, my bookings under my old address.  Would they all transfer to my new listing?

(BTW, I'm still in the same city/state...I only moved 1 1/2 miles away from my old place.  Essentially, it's still the same neighborhood, same amenities, etc.)

Hi @Michele35,

You will need to create a new listing under the same account (you are only allowed one account).  You will not loose any of your reviews as reviews are tied to your account and not your listing.  I am not sure though what you mean about transferring the bookings under your old address?  Do you still have people booked for your old address and you want them to stay at your new address?

If you no longer have the old listing, you can just "unlist" it or "delete" it.  As I said, you will still keep your reviews, they just won't have the name of your old listing underneath.

Here is also a help article which describes "snoozing", "deleting", and "unlisting" and it is also where it states "You won't be able to permanently deactivate your listing if you have any upcoming reservations or reservation requests. Past reviews of your listing will remain on your public profile—they cannot be removed."

I hope this helps @Michele35!

When I ask about "transferring bookings under my old address," I mean I currently have guests who booked with me under my old listing, and I had to manually inform them via message about the change of my address.   My first guest for my new address left last Friday, after staying at my new place for five nights, and now I have a new guest staying with me from yesterday to this Tuesday, and then I have another guest coming on Wednesday for a couple of nights.

Because they all booked on my old listing, and if I set up a new listing, would I still be able to get their reviews and ratings on my new place?   I don't want to lose their reviews and ratings...especially if I can get them to give me ratings/reviews on my new place.  I don't want them to list their reviews/rates on my old place, as it wouldn't be entirely accurate.

This is one flaw in Airbnb...I really don't understand why I cannot simply change my address and update photos/description.  I did not move out of the state or city, after all.  I'm still in the same freakin' neighborhood!

Hi @Michele35,

Create a new listing for your new place then use the alteration tool and you can move the guests who booked for your old place to your new place.  Check out this Help Guide on altering the reservation.

You might as well start receiving reviews for your new listing.

Thank you.  I have gone ahead and set up my new listing with my new address (which was a pain in the butt, since I essentially repeated all the information except for photos & address).  I was able to transfer my third guest (who is scheduled to arrive later this week) to my new listing, pending his approval.

But I could not transfer my current guest, without losing the rate (the old listing has two rates...one regular rate and one special-event rate) and since he is already one day into his stay, I cannot adjust the calendar in my new listing for yesterday (as it's greyed out).

I also could not transfer my past guest (the one who stayed at my new place last week), and I see no way of ensuring that his review/rating would appear for my new listing, unless you know yet another trick?

I agree, its definitly flawed on AIRBNBs part. Make it simple for the host!!
