What was the outcome on the ruling for city of Charleston concerning short term rentals?

Has anyone had a positive result when being approached by HOAs covenants regarding short-term rental or subleasing a primary residence. I think one of the key points in our favor is the fact that Airbnb hosts live in their  primary dwelling

Just checking, does your listing have a new Charleston City short term rental permit? I don’t want to arrive (or during our stay) to find that we can’t stay since we have already paid!

has anyone applied for the STR license?  I just called Airbnb and they know nothing about this issue in Charleston - told me to do nothing at this time.  Has anyone had any experience with the City of Charleston outside of historic downtown?

It is unfortunate AirBnB did not follow Uber's lead and invest in lawyers to help protect their customers and their income stream.  Charleston is now almost impossible and, if you are downtown and not one of the privileged few to own a home on the historic register you cannot do STR at all.
