De-registering as an Airbnb host

Hi fellow hosts,

Have any of you tried to de-register as Airbnb hosts, and what were the outcomes?

I have had an unpleasant experience with Airbnb, and i'm not sure I want to be part of the organization anymore. Apparently it is impossible to de-register one's property...

Your thoughts and advice will be welcomed.

@Nadia382 You can definitely remove your property from Airbnb: here are the steps on how to do that.

It's the last option on the tutorial.

If you're managing your listing, scroll to the bottom: the last item is Listing status. Just click on that and choose Permanently Deactivate Listing. It won't work if you have pending reservations, so you need to cancel those first if you have any.

@Nadia382

I am really sorry you have had an unpleasant experience with your Airbnb. This platform should be about spreading happiness and nice experiences. not problems!

As @Alexandra316 says you can remain an Airbnb member but de-active your listing so it no longer exist on file as long as you have no up-coming reservations.

If you wish to leave the platform altogther and have any existing reservations cancelled you will have to close your account as per this screenshot....

Good luck Nardia

Hi @Nadia382

if you did not yet delist your listings and profile, and still want to do it, you may wish to remove all texts and photos first, save that empty state and then delist. If you do that, your pictures and texts are gone completely.

if you just delist, they can be brought back to live for an unknown time.

Your reviews will stay, but not be visible. They are not only connected to your account, but to the guests’s accounts as well.

If you change your mind in a few months, if you ask customer service to reactivate the old account, the reviews will appear on your profile. If you empty the listing first and then delete it, you have to create new ones, if you wish to relist. If you just delist, staff may be able to reactivate them. (I know a host, who keeps coming and going).
