Decline not working

I just received an enquiry for a 6 week booking and the guest wanted me to call or email him. I cannot do either and when I tried to decline the booking the decline button is not 'live'  It doesn't work when I click on it

I don't want to be penalised so has anyone else come across this and what did you do ?

@Tif1

If its an enquiry, all you have to do is message them saying all communication has to be through airbnb. then refresh your screen and the countdown clock will go away.

@Jeff158   OK, thank you for replying Jeff.  Did that,  but it is still there as an enquiry, as he had booked off all the dates up to the last date i had available (25 days) so sent it as a request and the pre approve /decline window came up,  (and  he then sent a message with his phone number and email asking me to call him about renting the flat for 6 weeks,) so is it still considered a reservation enquiry?  To be honest I thought the only reason he wanted to contact me direct is to see if he could rent privately, which i don't intend to do anyhow, but I don't want it sitting there as an unconfirmed request to book, hence the need to officially decline

I have also sent a message to Airbnb support

@Tif1, it does seem like some kind of glitch. If he sent a booking request, you should be able to accept or decline. Sounds like you'll need to get Airbnb involved.

@Kath9  Agree. Sent a message and got a reply but it didn't address the fact that the decline button doesn't work, so have now received 2 emails from airbnb asking me to pre approve or decline which I still can't . Have taken a screen shot to show the problem and hope they can fix it their end

This is happening to me too. I'd hate to mess up my response rate because of a glitch on their part but I suspect that that's exactly what will happen.
