Discrimination procedure

Ok so I had an annoying guest who send me inappropriate messages and then proceeded to send messages that constitute hate crime. I gave him a review and explained this. He responded to the review with hateful comments so Air Bnb have now deleted both mine and his review. Then I got this message from Air BnB:

"Our team will investigate this matter and follow up. This could mean warning the host, or suspending or removing their account. For privacy reasons, we can’t share what will happen after the review but we want you to know that we are committed to fighting discrimination and ensuring that the Airbnb community is open and accessible to everyone."

So what does this mean? He doesnt get a bad review and is able to continue hes behaviour...? Very disappointed in Air Bnb.

A few more details may be in order. My wild guess is that you are coming from a theoretical position of fairness, truth and merit (as I would), but unfortunately in today's world a lot more social forces (and abusive games) are at play beyond those fundamental principles.

Nice to meet you and I am sorry to hear you had such a horrible experience with your guest. 

It is hard to know the specifics from your message, but the team take this very seriously and it sounds from the message you received like they are presently looking into this further and will then take the necessary action to prevent this from happening in the future.

First things first.

Do nothing. Do not get stressed.

This is just corporate power play.

The message says nothing. It is just Airbnb Inc. being holier- than -thou.

They are not saying you did anything wrong. They are just positioning themselves by creating a paper trail that claims they are against descrimination.

Sorry it is annoying and offensive, but don't take it personally
