Evacuees: Hosting without Listing for the Public

Evacuees: Hosting without Listing for the Public

I have my guest room listed on airbnb; normally, I keep the calendar closed unless I am out of town. How do I turn off my listing for the general population, but still keep my listing active for hurricane evacuees?

Hi @Alison212

I think you have to create a listing specifically for evacuees and then turn off your normal listing.

"If you already host on Airbnb, choose an existing listing, or create one specifically for the cause of your choice."

@Alison212  There are postings by well meaning host who want to help but are getting requests for the free stay from questionable guests.  Perhaps the best way to help is to let known agencies who help with housing that you are willing to help.  You could send a message to Salvation Army or American Red Cross or a church based group that is directing people.  Meanwhile, keep your calendar blocked per usual.  Just a thought.
