My guest have make the reservation 3 months back and just cancel the reservation 4 days before the check in date under the extenuating circumstances. I felt the guest is not an honest person and i complaint to Airbnb but no one is hearing.
My guest have requested me to block the calendar for him and he will pay me during check in, so that he can save the Airbnb fees. I insist my guest to book through Airbnb so that both of us are protected (but now seems like everywhere have a loop hole). One week before the check in date the guest suddenly request to reduce the staying period from 10 weeks to 5 weeks. The next day my guest told me he need to cancel the booking due to family issue.
Airbnb have cancelled the reservation with full refund to the guest due to the extenuating circumstances for guest cancellation policy. I thougt i am protected but in reality, i am not. Shouldn't such extenuating circumstances should protected by travel insurances instead of the host ? I am totally ignored by Airbnb for giving any comment or evidence, totally in a black box. Airbnb just cancel the booking without seeking for any advices or approval (from me), and not even ask for any feedback. Airbnb just act on their own and send you an email to say sorry your reservation have been cancelled 4 days before the check in date. I really doubt that how the host was being protected. sign !!!
