Family collection is missing bookings

To become part of Airbnb's family collection, I need to have guests who book as families.

However, there is a major flaw in the booking systems that means that guests are not able to provide this information.

Most of my guests are families of all ages so I was surprised to find that the bookings weren't contributing to my eligibility. I raised this with Airbnb Help and they said that guests have  only entered 'adults' and there's nothing they can do about that.

That didn't sound right so I ran some test enquiries on my 2 listings and this is what I found:

When I send a special offer, when the traveler accepts and enters the number of adults, children and infants, the system flicks to show adults only. There's nothing the traveler can do about this!

In addition, when travellers respond to a pre-approval, the number of adults & children is combined to show the number of guests as a total. Therefore, as a host, I'm not able to see the breakdown that they entered. This means that I have no way of knowing if the information they entered matches the reality of the booking.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Missed out on being credit with family bookings?

The booker must tick a box, @Bradley20, that indicates it is a family trip. The question is something like: Why are you travelling? And the choices are Family Trip and Business Trip. The question can be skipped, and often is. You could try putting in your summary something like: If you are a family, please tick the Family Trip option when booking!

I think you need only three guests to do that to be eligible to complete the requirements to be part of the Family Collection.

Thanks, Lawrene. It seems a bit arbitrary if the designation of family is determined by an optional field. However, I was informed by a customer services person that the determination is based on the number of adults/children/infants stated at the time of booking.

What's your source for the designation being that optional question?

I think you're correct about only needing 3 family guests. I have had 7 but only one is credited which is what led me to look for any systematic explanation for why these weren't being recognised..
