I have been illegally ticketed for over-advertising when I have not violated anything in the STR Ordinance. It requires that I post: 1) my registration number and 2) the limit of three unrelated occupants that may stay on my property at any one time. I have done so. So the legal team, in an attempt to enforce their occupancy limit are overreaching their authority by allowing/directing staff to ticket for advertising more than 2 listings at a time and counting a guest in a single listing as two listings. This limits my ability to attract couples I have hosted for the 6 yrs. preceding their regulations. It also limits my ability to book my two other occupants (besides myself) since I have less visibility with for example two, rather than three listings (I have different room characteristics and prices) with only one guest per listing and only one listing if I can even possibly attract a couple or two folks who want to save by sharing a room.
I wonder if there is any legal support out there to challenge what I consider this violation of my 1st Amendments rights. It is a takings.
