I have only hosted my first two guests, with my parents staying in between and a third guest arriving today. I have been hosting almost exactly a week. Anyway, I have noticed something oddly exciting about opening up my guest room on Airbnb. I don't know why I feel compelled to bring it up here, other than it just seems novel right now. So, I have been doing more laundry and cleaning than usual because of the constant flow of house guests this week, but I have been unusually thrilled about the cleaning because I am getting paid to do it for the first time ever! Every time I go to wash the sheets and towels, I feel compelled to grab other stuff, like throwing in my bath mats with the guest suite mats, or washing some kids sheets with the sheets load, etc. I do this both for efficency (prefer to run a full washer), and the great way it feels psychologically just to think about getting paid to do these ordinary tasks!
