Hi there, I have a guest for the w/e in our b+b room. The booking was for 3 (we charge £20 extra per person per night over two as we offer a second room with a sofabed). When they turned up, they are in fact 4 people. One of the reasons why we use Airbnb is so we don't have to deal with money issues. Therefore how can I get Airbnb to ask them for the extra money or debit them as I really don't want to make an issue over it and spoil our presently good relationship but do feel that it is a bit cheeky to misdescribe their numbers...they are two couples. If anyone out there has any bright ideas please let me know.
It's in your control - go to the reservation and add on the additional guest fee. If you are embarrassed to do they Airbnb certainly won't do it for you. Your other option is to just leave it be - sounds like it may have been an honest mistake on their part if there was no attempt to hide the fourth person.
It has happened to us, particularly with first timers and they are more embarrassed than you about it.
As Gerry & Rashid said, you can send them a note explaining the change. Go to your inbox, click on their message string, click the change/cancel box at the top and add the extra person.
We find this is a frequent problem with our own listing even when we don't charge for extra people. Many people will enter the guest number and not include themselves. Talk to the guests about it and hopefully all will be well.
