Guest wants her food back

Guests just never cease to surprise me. This one checked out in the morning and at almost 5 pm asked for the things in the fridge. I do not even know if there were any- cleaning people are told to throw everything out. I totally get it if they messaged right away or at least before the check in time for the next group. Should I now start messaging people to see if they want food back? I message about forgotten items but never food. Seems to be an overkill. In my check out instructions I do ask that everything in the fridge is either taken or thrown out.

@Inna22   I have to say, you do get some of the weirdest guests. Of course no one saves food that is left behind, unless it's unopened stuff and the host or the cleaner takes it home. What, does she want you to pack it up and send it to her?

Tell her that as it's a whole house listing, your cleaners are instructed to throw away anything left in the fridge, as guests are reminded to take all food with them that they want, so the assumption is that anything left is unwanted. Ask her how she would have felt about checking in to find that the previous guests' leftover, opened packages of food were in the fridge?

Was this the bride?

@Sarah977  the bride is this weekend 🙂 that’s exactly what I told her- new people checked in, old food is trash. I always feel bad saying no to guests. No matter how right I am, all they hear is a no
