This is a direct cut and paste from my airbnb email. It's from Airbnb <community@airbnb.com> Terrible grammar errors aside, what's it all about? We noticed that you currently use pre-booking questions,a feature that we‘ll soon be retiring.Since we know the first conversation between you andeach of your guests is important, you’ll still be able to ask gueststhe same questions in your pre-booking message.Update pre-booking messageWe appreciate your understanding as we work to improvethe Airbnb experience for everyone. Thanks for being a host,The Airbnb Team

My pre-booking questions disappeared a while ago but I don't remember getting an e-mail about it
@Jim472 We received the same email yesterday. I haven't had a chance to do anything about it yet, so I'm keen to see what others and Admin say.
There isn't even an option for pre booking questions for us, just the tiny character limit for the message.
My questions are still there. Where is the place for the message now? I've looked but can't find it.
I really don't think it matters in the long run, at least here in Malaysia. I have not had a single person answer mine. I think a form would work much better
Have you read house rules? Check box.
What is your ETA? Formfill.
ETD? Formfill.
Do you require any special needs or information? Formfill
Etc.
First they removed the photos before booking. Now the pre-booking questions. I sent them the following message:
"I'm not happy that you removed photos of guests before they book and now are removing re-booking questions. Pre-screening is very important to me. Taking these things away makes it less safe for me, as a host, to bring strangers into my home. I hope you reconsider or I may have to stop hosting."
I host in my home. Both of these things gave me peace of mind. I may have to turn of instant booking if they don't allow me to pre-screen. We are not a hotel, we are individuals bringing people we don't know into our private spaces or spaces we own and they use. It seems they're bending over backwards to accommodate guests and, in doing so, making it unsafe for us to host. 😞
I've been hosting since 2015 and always felt like Airbnb had my back. Now I don't.
I just changed the questions to include them in the pre-booking message. Hopefully that will work. But, again, why don't they have our backs?
Oh, @Suzanne13! Where's your spirit of adventure! You don't want to host Micky Mouse or a kitten?? Wait! Is that discrimination? And then there's Israel... they can do it, but we can't.
Dear me... this is crazy awful. A beautiful concept, growing too fast/aggressively and not paying attention to the small, innocent details that truly do matter.
I've been on snooze, where I plan to stay untill this smooths out. Disappointing, but most errors of this magnitude tend to correct over time.
Best, and be careful,
Airbnb wants hosts to accept every single guest, no matter what. I wouldn't be surprised to see them eliminate the ability to decline a booking one of these days.
Oh Sarah, that is a nasty thought!
At least you can still put those questions in your house rules which guests have to agree to before booking ? It seems to mostly work.
