Hello everyone,
When we welcome our guests in our homes, we're often asked about local interesting places and activities. We can recommend a great restaurant or sightseeing spot, but what if there is something extra special that we would like the guests to experience; something that can’t just be pointed to on a map?
Many hosts have ventured out to become Experience hosts – a way of helping the guests to become a part of the local culture and a hosts specialist activity.
Have you considered hosting an Experience? Any interesting activities that you could involve your guest in?
Thanks,
Stephanie
Hi @Stephanie! I can't believe no one has replied to this yet, while I've been thinking about creating an amazing, unique experience for tourists! I think my only problem is overthinking it! 🙂 But I will publish it in September!
Do you think you're going to do it?
Best,
Ena
I've certainly been considering it, however I live in a rural area so not entirely sure how many people would even look for an experience here.
In addition to that, the fee charged seems high in what would already be a pretty low-profit margin.
@Kenny128 totally agree! 20% of a fee is such a rip off! It is the only reason why I haven't done it yet.
Hi
I'd like to host an experience, but don't know how to find out what are the requirements in the UK, or my local area with regards whether I would then need to pay business rates, or do I need to take out insurance? Can you answer these questions for me, or tell me who I should contact?
Many thanks
