Heads up: IB parameters for ID switched off, not by me. Check your listings.

1. The parameters I checked for IB requesting Government ID were switched off (not by me), check in case it is a site wide glitch.

I was receiving requests from guests with no verification whatsoever. I found out when I called support and  CS told me it was switched off!

 

2. Anyone receiving this message?
"You’re seeing this because we sometimes require hosts to accept a reservation request even when they have Instant Book turned on. You’re most likely to see this when you haven’t updated your calendar in a while or you’ve recently canceled a reservation."

 

I have canceled no one recently and my calendar is up to date. Customer support then told me I had 6 declines in a row, not true, I rarely decline, and if I do, only when guests have chidren and pets and more people than I can take.   I have 94% accepted reservations.

Hi Ange, I had my ability to use instant book revoked for a period of weeks after I had airbnb cancel a booking for me (the person wanted to add more people than my lisiting accomodates) I never got a striaght response about why it happened- the airbnb rep who cancelled the booking has assured me that I would not be penalized as she could see that the potential guest had indeed wanted to violate my terms. I'd call customer support again and try to avoid dealing with the person you spoke to before- not all reps know what they are doing. I was also advised by the community to turn instant book on and off myself every day for a few days. I'm still not clear how or why it started working again, if it happens again I'll be lighting up the phones at the support lines- best of luck! Sally
