Hello,

My Name is Cara and I am starting a small startup in London specializing in supervised children's tours and movie nights for children aged 8 and over. We are still in the start-up phases of setting up our booking system online and creating a partnership program whereby hosts, travel agents and more can earn a commission from referring customers to us. I Wanted to pop on here A) because I would love to know about how Airbnb experience hosting system works and also B) to gain some feedback from local London (UK) Hosts. I wonder if as a host you would be interested in perhaps placing a printout of our information and contacts for your customers (if people still provide folders of information like this to their customers??) or providing web links that you can include in emails? 

And can this still be done with Airbnb now offering experiences?

Hi Cara - any innovative start up is to be recommended for the workthat goes into it etc...here are a few comments that come to mind. Some may be helpful - others you may find a bit 'raw'

My understanding is you need to have an active property lisited on the site to offer an experience

I am sure you have looked into the aspects of minding minors - everythinig from CRB checks to insurance

You photo of you kissing a guy witht he word punk is not exactly going to appeal to many people with 8 yr olds - it's a bit unprofessional given your market segment

AirBnB hosts can embed links into messages once a bookinig has been made, but not before.

Lots of hosts provide folders of iniformation for their guests - including kids

Trusting your 8 year old to an unknown adult sounds risky - what about a sliightly higher age bracket?

I am guessing that most AirBnB visitors to London are adults on weekend breaks not longer family stays - but I may be wrong on that point.

Thankyou for your advice it has been very helpful. I have Changed my profile picture (unfortantly Airbnb wouldnt let me do that when I joined). I have Advanced safe gaurding training, CRB Cheaks, First Aid and a Degree in Teaching, Diploma in Childcare and comprehencive insurence. My bussiness Idea started becouse of the amount of people coming to London for business and leasure with their children and the difficulties around hiring a nanny as well as the needs of the children. Most of the children I worked with really wanted to meet other children their own age to play with.

So I suppose my next qestion is if you have to be a host to become an experince host im out when it comes to airbnb. So what would be the best way to make connections and promote my services to other airbnb hosts?
