How did you decide on your custom URL?

Hiya everyone,

With the rollout of the personalised URLs, hosts have been going to town with designing the most chique links for their listings but there are many things to consider when crafting these!

Put your marketing hat on and really sell that listing in a concise, eye-catching and informative way. Whether you’ve gone for a Pauls-pad-in-paradise or a Host-on-the-coast, it’s fun to have a play around with this.

So then, have you created your custom URL? If so, what made you pick your choice of wording?

Thanks,

Stephanie

Hi @Stephanie ,

It was hard. I created a custom url for one of my listings, but would really like to have  custom url for my profile page - the one that showcases all 4 listings, as that's the link I share around on the web and on printed materials.

I know I know, never happy 😉

All good feedback @Solveig0  - certainly can relay it as with any update or feature, we are constantly evolving it from host comments.

I actually read through my reviews and picked out key words that people used to describe our cabin.  It also made it easy to remember!

@Kim866 that's a really clever technique and a great tip for those still pontificating!

We used the title of our space: "The Artist Studio SRQ".

It is a studio apartment that was once the creative space of a well known abstract artist from the 80's/90's/2000's. Hence "The Artist Studio" --- SRQ being the Airport code for Sarasota FL.

How interesting! And your listing looks absolutely superb. Is the name of the artist a secret @Barry-and-Lera0 ?

@StephanieHis name is Steven McCallum.

We currently have one of his paintings (Buzz Bike - 1992) in the space above the doors to our garden. buzz bike.jpg

Hi @Stephanie,

I just used a simple 3-letter abbrevation of the complex.

Easy to mention to everybody around the globe (without any typo).
