Hi there,
I would like to contact another Host down the street who has great reviews to discuss how we can refer each other. I would like to refer him when I have men who want to book a shared room (i allow women only) and would like to suggest to him if he is full or if he has someone wanting a completely private space that he could refer my rooms or guest suite?
I'm wondering why there is no feature that allows hosts to contact hosts??
@Jennifer976. At the risk of sounding totally old-fashioned, have you considered walking down the street and leaving a card with a request to meet and your phone number?
lol @Susan151 I just want to say the same but you were faster 😄
@Jennifer976good thinking, it could be very helpful sometimes as you have a back up system in case something in your unit get broken for example. I am conected with couple of hosts in my neighbourhood and we help each other. When my water heater broke I was able to relocate my guests in few minutes.
Hi Susan,
There is no address in his ad only a circle giving the proximity so I know he is South of me....possibly on my street....possibly a street or 2 over?? Don't wan't to be the annoying crazy lady from down the block banging on doors.
🙂

@Jennifer976 hosts are allowed to DM each other on the CC, but within the ABB system itself your only option is a fake "inquiry"
I have had luck contacting hosts using the “fake inquiry” route and they have always understood.
I tried this myself a couple of times but couldn't do it because there were no dates available. The CC is another method of contacting them, but it would only work if they were active users or it, which many hosts are not. Dropping a note through the door could also work, but here in London, probaby not. Most listings are in apartments and it is impossible to identify the exact location, only the rough location, certainly not their front door!
Just a general radius on a map so won't work here either.
hm... in Croatia all hosts should be registered and their rentals should have a name. Our tourist organisation prints a book with a list of all rentals sorted by alphabetical order with addresses and contacts. in addition there is also a website with a list of all rentals. Do you have anything like this in your country or your town?
No nothing like this in Canada i'm afraid.
