I discovered after they left that a guest had caused some damage to the apartment so I went to the Resolution Center to request compensation. He sent me a message saying that he agrees to pay what I am asking and wants to know how to send the money? I tried sending him my email address so he could send it via online interac but Airbnb blocked the address. So how can he send me the money?
You would request the money directly in the resolution center. Never try to request money outside of the Airbnb website, it is a violation of your terms as a host and could get you and the guest in trouble.
Go to airbnb.com/resolutions
select the reservation you are dealing with
Select reason (You would choose "request compensation for damages"
Select "next"
you will then see this page...
Fill in the information and select "done adding items"
The guest will then have the option to accept the requested amount of money. If they don't airbnb will get involved and mediate the case. Do this right away as you only have 48 hours to put in the intitial claim against a security deposit.
As I said, I did all that already. The guest then sent me a message that he accepts and wants to know how to send the money. What do I tell him.
Update: the guest has now accepted the damage request I sent through the Resolution Center and it says the "Resolution Closed". So my next question is how do I get my money from Airbnb? Will they send me a payout? If so, when?
