Inauguration and Washington D.C. Area hosts

There is now significant national interest in protesters visiting D.C. for the inauguration.  I know this must be a significant booking weekend for all, but for those who aren't booked-is there a way we can group together to offer free or reduced booking to last minute travelers.  I understand we can't discriminate against other bookings and it may be first come first serve but...just throwing out ideas here.  I'm a host in a seattle and promised a group of women aid look into it 🙂

Would not it be an easier route to raise money to subsidise those travel costs?

Maybe I'm a cynic, but there would not be a chance in hades that I would WANT to encourage protesters to converge on Washington DC for free.  Nor would I want to house them in my home in their heightened emotional state.  Who would want to bring that kind of potential damage to their town, let alone their homes?!  Geez, not me!

Believe it or not, protest is a way of life in DC. On any given normal day, there are 5- 10 protests going on. It's what we do here!! No big deal. Now the inauguration partiers -- well there is a reason rates go sky high! 🙂
