My newest listing is on a lake front. I've tried to read about all of the extra coverage that AirBnB supplies, but what if someone would get hurt on the dock or while in the lake?? Is that also covered or does anyone have any suggestions on what they do to ensure they are safe as a host of a lake front property?? Thanks!
Your insurance company would probably be the best ones to advise you. We have a property bordered by a creek and found out from our insurance broker that the department of fisheries owns a few meters of the land at the shoreline. May be different in your case as we are not allowed to put up a jetty for this reason. I would guess your public liability insurance should cover you for this as long as it is set up within the policy itself. I would not recommend counting on airbnb for insurance. I believe you are expected to try to claim through your own coverage first and their insurance is there as a somewhat dubious safety net...
