I have a guest who missed the "time frame" to leave feedback, I would like to add this feedback because we are a newer airbnb, how can we copy and paste the feedback he left in a message? And why a time frame? I also don't know how I will see anyone's feedback, I can never find my question after I write it.
Hi @Chris1485 🙂
It is not possible to leave public feedback if the guest didn't leave a review. You can write a review and so can your guest. You can always write to the guest asking them politely to leave you a review before the 14 days review period is over. The reason or at least one reason there is a 14 day limit is if you for instance had to write a bad review. Then the guest could make a revenge review. Do you see? None of you can read the other parts review before you both posted one or after the 14 days has past.
Take a look around this community. There is so much to learn as a new host. I have learned a lot myself. All the best, Sandra
Thanks
Thank you Sandra for answering my question, I so appreciate your response. I am very new at this.
Hi @Chris1485 unfortunately, once the window has passed for reviews it has passed. At this time, no amount of persuasion seems to move Airbnb CS to change that. As for seeing feedback in the Community Center, every time you sign in, if you have a response to your post, or a thumbs up on something you wrote, you will see a notification in red on the bell in the upper right hand corner of the screen. To find your past posts that may have no responses. Click/tap on your profile picture and go to Community Profile and you will see a list of all your activity here.
As far as getting guests to review within the 2 week timeframe, you could send a gentle reminder when they check out eg: "Thank you for staying with us. We hope your stay was the stellar experience we striive for. Just a reminder, Airbnb gives us each 14 days to review each other. I sincerely hope we earned a 5 star review." In my opinion, you should not promise them a 5 star as well, even if they will be getting one. It comes really close to implying that because you gave them a good review, they should do the same.
Good Luck!
Thank you Ava for responding to my question, I appreciate it.
@Chris1485 Also one more thing 🙂 When you say feedback you probably also mean reviews. You can see the reviews and the stars giving to you in your dashboard. Under "progress" then press "rating" . Look around the dashboard so you will get familiar with it. You will also be able to read a lot about how things work under the help section.
@Chris1485 Even if you could, copying and pasting a guest's Private Feedback to you would be unethical. Maybe you just have your terms mixed up and you meant review.
Also, as new hosts, it's good to be aware that if a guest sends you private feedback that criticizes something about your place or their stay, you should never refer to those things in a review response. It will only call attention to something that no can see mentioned in the review. Only respond publicly, if necesssary, to what is written in the public review. If a guest leaves you a decent review, but mentions something they think you should upgrade in private feedback, they are likely doing that because they are being respectful and don't want to publicly mention whatever it is and hurt you. So only to respond to private feedback or message privately.
