Length of Stay Problem

There were specific dates in April that I set for a 5-day minimum stay however a guest was able to book 2 days only.  Once I realized their booking was not the length of time I previously set, I contacted the guest to notify them of the "miss-match".  I asked if they would like to add more nights or if they needed to cancel.  They opted for cancel since they did not plan on staying the length of time that I initially requested.  Now I have a cancel on my end (insert pouty face) AND dates blocked off.  How do I take the block off and ensure future bookings adhere to the timeline set?

Help would be greatly appreciated!  🙂

Hi Angelle,

I too have set a min,days-7.  I would like a min of 30 but I will work on that.  Your situation-I would contact Airbnb to verify that they infact did advertise a min of 5 days and then contact potential guest to make sure that they understood that the min was 5 days as stated in the listing.  Then if potential guest wants to cancel, it should not have gone against your evaluation.  To unblock dates, go to calendar and click on unblock. Hope this works.

@Shirley220 she won't be able to unblock the dates herself, as this is a penalty for cancelling.

Never cancel... in this case you could call Airbnb CS and try to convince them to reverse the penalties; good luck.

Re. the minimum stay set-up, it applies to check-in dates only. So for example if you have a five night minimum starting on April 1, a 2-night stay checking in March 31 is allowed.

How do you call AirBnb?  I have never been able to access a contact number.

@Angelle2 if you want someone to be notified of your post you must tag them...

To get to the number you have to keep selecting "it's something else"

@Angelle2,

Dates blocked by Airbnb due to a cancellation by the host can not be unblocked, it is one of the penalties when cancelling a reservation. Setting specific dates to a minimum stay must be done carefully. The period selected does not act as a "wall", so if a reservation starts just before such period, the minimum stay set  for that period is not used. Only check-in date is used to determine the minimum stay.

Best regards,

Emiel
