I am having an interesting exchange with Airbnb about local taxes. At least the people I am talking to, have acknowledged the way we are currently doing it is unsustainable and I was told Airbnb is actually working on a solution to be released in late Q2 early Q3. They have not been able to tell me what the solution is, and I have been asking specifically for Texas...although I am in contact with a couple of Superhosts in Florida that they claim they have been given a solution.
My recommendation and feedback to my Airbnb contact has been to add a line item for the local tax, exempt from booking fees and state tax charges... I hope they do that.
Is anyone else hearing about this? Is anyone else talking to Airbnb directly about this?
